Twitter - This is a Micro-Blog. Twitter is a tool to which you can post your latest status in
160 characters or less. The easiest way to explain what Twitter is would be to relate it to
a newspaper headline. The newspaper industry is a trillion dollar industry built off of
selling the entire newspaper from headline news. The headline would be a status
message. The status message or headline creates interest which with a link included
can generate traffic to any site you would like to promote.
Facebook - This is quickly becoming the most in demand social media site on the
internet today. There are currently around 160 million users on Facebook. Facebook
has a personal page and business page which can be created to build a community and
promote your company. While many are familiar with using Google to search for
companies among other items, you can just as easily search for “Dentist” on Facebook
and pull up the people in your network which leads to presence and community.

MySpace - This is similar to Facebook with a slightly different demographic.
The use and purpose is similar. MySpace can be fully customized to look and feel
like your actual website.
LinkedIn - This is one of the top business networking sites that allow businesses
to connect to other businesspeople and make introductions to help cultivate new
business opportunities. Every Fortune 500 company is on LinkedIn today. If used
correctly, LinkedIn can generate a huge amount of business leads and reach for
your product or service.
Blogs - The purpose of blogging is to create postings that are helpful and interesting to
the prospective reader so overall readership increases and your target public audience
subscribes to your blog. This helps generate interest in you, your company and your
products or services if done correctly. Blogs also read well on top Google searches and
can be used as a platform to establish you and your company as an opinion leader in
the field.
RSS Feeds - An RSS Feed is a Really Simple Syndication which is best described as a
simple online newspaper. You can subscribe to articles or authors you like and read
content that you prefer to read. This can arrive in your email inbox or be read using an
online feed reader similar to getting your daily newspaper. If your articles on your blogs
are written to be interesting and informative, the chances of your target public
subscribing to the RSS Feed increases.
Video - These days, web video is in high demand. More and more people are viewing
video rather than simply reading your website and so the level of importance has
dramatically increased. Video, if done correctly can spread quickly online to create
interest and generate reach for your products or services.
Social Bookmarking - The same way that you would bookmark a website on your
computer!s web browser, there are now online sites called Social Bookmarking sites
such as Digg, Delicious, and Technorati that allow its users to bookmark their favorite
sites on the internet. This creates interest for those sites and makes them accessible to
others on the various social bookmarking sites.
Web Press Releases - This is a tool to make your company!s news broadly known
